Meet David Luther

David W Luther was born in Seguin, Texas, and proudly claims his Texan heritage as a 5th-generation Texan. Raised in West University, David attended Lamar High School and the University of Houston. In 1978, at barely 20, he became the youngest Deputy Sheriff ever in Harris County, eventually rising to the rank of Detective by 22.

In 1990, David transitioned to business, founding a company that in 1992 was recognized as one of Houston's fastest-growing private businesses. He managed the company for 30 years before closing it in 2022, in preparation for his retirement.

Politically active since voting in his first election in 1980, David has worked in various campaigns, including managing efforts during the 2004 Presidential Campaign in New Hampshire.

He has served in multiple positions within the Republican Party, including two terms on the State Republican Executive Committee and five terms as Chairman of the Waller County Republican Party.

Currently, David is completing his second term as President of the Texas Republican County Chairmen’s Association. David Luther’s life is dedicated to service and collaboration.

He believes in stepping up to meet needs and building strong relationships in politics and life. He doesn't believe in learning how to take a proper "selfie."
